What's for Dinner, Thurs., Aug. 22, 2024

Ground beef and onion roll-ups with marjoram.

I put this in the slow cooker earlier today but it tastes so good I think I'll just have it this way, using tortilla wraps.

Any of the mixture that's left over can go into ricotta and make stuffed peppers.

Cucumber and Vidalia onion salad with vinegar.

Kombucha: Ginger lemon.

Dessert: Oreo cookie ice cream bar.

melons. The raccoons around here prefer my cats food. I usually live trap those raccoons and take them for a five mile drive and release them. Our problem is waiting too long to pick our melons and finding out one side is rotten.

you would never have rotten melons.
I would be hanging around the garden fence, chatting you up, and maybe you would offer me one.
I would do it so often you would dread going to your garden.

to a Mexican restaurant. My birthday is Sat. but I'll be out of town. It was so thoughtful of her to offer The food was really good, flavorful, nice-sized portions. The wait staff were attentive

I had some ice cream when I got home.

My kids made arrangements for me to pick up a surprise at a superb bakery in the neighborhood I'll be staying. Whatever that is, I'll share with my friend. Maybe

She ended up having surgery and is getting released to a rehab place, maybe today. I'm going to go up on weekends as often as I can. Helping the neighbors with her cat, and visiting her. Last week, I left a few things at her house, so I won't have to take my dorm gear

I am lucky. Things weren't looking too good over the weekend, and by Monday, I was feeling pretty sad. But all morning, I heard from people, some that I haven't heard from in awhile, calls, texts and by the 3rd or 5th person got in touch, I felt like the universe was trying to make me feel better. It seems like the vibe kept up all week so far

Thanks for the birthday wishes!
