Chow mein: has cabbage, carrots, and scallions. A few bell pepper slices, and snap peas.
Tofu, cooked separately in sesame oil, is the protein. I've got it to a golden brown, but it takes forever on low heat.
I love using my wok! It is so fast. Can't do the tofu in it, though, because it falls apart.
Dessert: Dark Chinese tea (helps keep blood sugar low) and tea biscuits with vanilla bean hummus and toasted walnuts.

(22,887 posts)French bread with butter, Camembert cheese and thin slices of a French pork sausage.
Homemade French onion soup with a rich beef broth, tons of onions, thick slices of the French bread all topped with Gruyere cheese which will be broiled on top of the hefty soup bowls.
Wedge salads with crumbled bacon, red onion ringlets, crumbled Gorgonzola cheese, olive oil and Balsamic vinegar.
Beaujolais.
Gruyere cheese and Beaujolais!!!
Before I confirmed that Gruyere's among my favorite cheeses, we drove through the sweet town of Gruyere! You would have enjoyed the trip, around a good part of France (in rental car, with youngsters, 'my' high school & college french, and brave husband's French lessons from L'alliance Francaise in DC.)

(510 posts)sprinkled lightly with berbere spice and a tiny bit of salt, broiled on the skin, then the skin removed. Whole green onions roasted with it to crisp them up, as a garnish - drained well, so not too much fat. Green beans cooked in a little water till nearly done, then topped with peeled asparagus to steam as the beans finished cooking. No butter, just a tiny dusting of salt. DH's diet program would probably say there was still too much fat, but you need a little omega whatever,
