What's for Dinner, Sunday, March 10, 2024

I spent the entire afternoon in the kitchen! Here are the items I made:

Roasted Brussels sprouts, half in orange sauce, half in garlic, salt, pepper, and yellow and red peppers.

Separate tray of red, yellow, and gold peppers in garlic, S & P.

Roasted a tray of turkey bacon to put on sandwiches and salads.

Speaking of salad, a large red tip lettuce and arugula (from garden) salad to get me through the early part of the week. Chopped vegetables like carrot, radish, cucumber, and celery.

Made Caesar dressing.

Brewed up another gallon of tea for kombucha, but also took some that was ready to bottle and put flavoring in it. The flavors are:

pineapple-kiwi fruit

plum-cherry

Then I played around with some variations on the pinto beans, making it a sort of dip for pita bread.

I'll prob'ly snack from all this intermittently throughout the evening, varying my time with planting seeds for early spring.

-----------

on edit: I forgot--baked snapdragon apples with cloves, Ceylon cinnamon, and grated nutmeg. Butter and agave on the base of the pan. Will have with Greek vanilla yogurt for dessert.

It all sounds so delicious

I broiled a couple of lamb chops, had one with scratch made creamed potatoes.
I cooked enough potatoes to make a small portion of potato salad for tomorrow. Also cooked a couple extra eggs to soak in soy sauce.
Earlier, I baked a loaf of bread.

Irish Coffee, to honor Son in Law and family! (only decent one I've found around here) Kids leaving for 'beach' condo in a few days, so won't be here for St. Pat's (when Ospreys due to arrive here!)
