NY Strip (about 1/3 of it, the steak was huge). Mashed potatoes with sour cream and used the bits in the steak pan plus a little butter to sauté up onion, bell pepper, tomatoes, spinach, and garlic for my veg. I am surely safe from vampires tonight.

Will use the rest of the steak in a quesadilla and a salad tomorrow’s lunch and dinner.

Dessert: M&Ms, and there is an apple turnover for a midnight snack

Orange before bedtime.

Endless pasta and salad is what we like at Olive Garden along with their bread sticks. Hope you made it home safely.

Good Evening

I was going to wait it out--it was that bad--but then I checked the weather report to find that it wasn't letting up until 8 a.m. tomorrow! Plus the longer I waited, the bigger the chances of flooding. I waited for it to lighten up a little and left. It was pretty scary, but I did make it. I can't even complain about reckless NJ drivers, as everyone was driving carefully for a change.

Just happy to be home, feed my kitty, talk to the RG, and do some household cleanup and seed some trays for spring.

The salad and breadsticks were terrific and so was the service. In addition, everyone is complaining about restaurant prices but if you ordered off the specials menu here, it was quite reasonable. I could tell they'd raised some prices, but they offer good specials.

From dried beans. I love to smash them with butter and top with diced onions and some Tabasco. Flour tortillas toasted in the cast iron.

I had two cookies before dinner. So that was a bassackward dessert decision.

local Dungeness crab (finally!), lettuce, egg, and a mayonnaise-based sauce. Traditionally, it uses ketchup, but all I have in the house is hot sauce.

The crab shell is currently cooking down to make a stock.
