(56,552 posts)I had to run down to Spain yesterday, and the evening flight back up here leaves at 7:30 PM and gets in at 9:30, when its on time, which is never. Yesterday was worse than usual, and it was 1 AM before I got home. My wife asked if I wanted her to make me something, and I told her to just get some sleep.
She said that as a reward, I would get a gourmet breakfast. So:
Fresh-squeezed juice from Valencia blood oranges
Two kinds of bread with Brie from France, soft goats cheese from Catalunya, and Muenster cheese from Wisconsin. Cajun spiced sautéed potatoes, tangerines and dried cranberries, as well as a small bowl of Müssli and black tea sweetened Russian style with apricot preserves.
That I dont weigh 400 pounds is a miracle yet to be fully explained by modern medicine.

(18,118 posts)Just my black coffee now. I haven't decided what to eat yet. I am fortunate that I have so many options.
It was in the low 40s so I braved the front porch for sunrise. It is mostly cloudy so there wasn't much to see. The clouds are interesting because the color varies from nearly black to almost white emphasizing their shapes. The birds were speaking up a lot but were competing with the sounds of people rushing to work on the winding back road.

Also cooked 2 eggs (with melted cheese) to go on top.

I mashed up some avocados for avo toast this morning and actually had 2 slices 'cuz no time for lunch today. In addition to that, I had 2 slices of turkey bacon, which I baked in the oven.
Headed to a talk this afternoon by Charles Bagli of the NY Times, their real estate reporter. He is speaking about his book Tales of the Robert Durst Murders. He covered the story while it developed. Should be pretty interesting. I know The Jinx was an engaging tale of how Rob't Durst manipulated the system to get away with what he did.
Then after that, I have to work so I guess I'd better post the dinner thread now.
