What's for Dinner, Tues., Feb. 6, 2024

Hopefully broccoli rabe, tubettini, and bratwurst. The broccoli rabe was so good I knocked it all off in one meal a couple days ago. Will check the Korean greengrocer on the way home from work tonight.

Blueberry-basil kombucha.

Broccoli rabe is on my mind, 'cuz the middle schoolers and I are planting a couple flats of it this afternoon, which is where I'm headed now.

I'm looking forward to having this meal while listening to the political shows discuss the ruling today.

Later maybe a salad and definitely four small tangerines before bedtime.

My sister is visiting for a few days and brought some beautiful Jurassic-sized beef ribs. She floured them then braised them in a bit of bacon grease. Then they went into the crockpot early in the afternoon along with carrots, celery, onion, garlic, bay leaf, some red wine and salt & pepper. Some little red potatoes will get tossed in later.

Big green salad on the side along with a bottle of pinot noir.

Pretty good day

We had a family birthday, so I went to the Indian restaurant for dinner. I got chicken tikka masala. It was so good!

Mr. Retrograde and I stayed longer than expected at our volunteer gig and had a late lunch at an Indian restaurant (I'm going to have to try to replicate their macaroni salad sometime) so I don't feel like eating much. Maybe I'll rummage in the fridge for some leftovers, or just have some cheese and crackers.
