Dangers of spare time

Back from the gall bladder extraction with free time I thought I would pull out my kitchen knives and sharpen the ones that I could. Then I thought I couild post a photo of the collection to test out my new phone. So here are the knives I use in my kitchen. I have cut down on the numbers over the years. The white handled chef's knife gets the brunt of the load. The short sword is used for cutting large things like pumpkins. The berad knife gets a lot of use, Germany. The Japanese clever is handy for chicken.
I also have a picture of what I am now doing for recipes that are on sheets of paper. Small piece of tape to hold tehm to the cabinet door over the main work area. I think Iwill look for something that I can just slide the sheet into to stick on the door.

Cause I really don’t use written recipes. I attached one of those plastic sheet protectors on the cabinet door with some Velcro strips and the paper sheet slipped in or out kept them clean too. My wife bakes and uses precise recipes so it still works for her.
