It is getting so cold out that all I can think about is a hot bowl of soup. Chicken with matzoh ball and I'm adding lots more herbs for tonight (marjoram, mostly). I picked the marjoram while I was cleaning up the greenhouse. Will also add more broth, more carrots, and more celery.
In addition, I'll whip up some cornbread.
I already have a salad made. Mesclun and ruffly green lettuce. Carrots, scallion, cucumber, cherry tomatoes. Avocado and turkey bacon crumbles. Might try a new salad dressing: will browse for a recipe.
No dessert; just dark Chinese tea.

(36,335 posts)On the other hand, I just took a corned beef brisket out of the sous vide bath, so after it cools a bit I might slice it and make Rueben sandwiches and a salad instead.

Cinnamon tea afterwards. He'll have ice cream.
