Miso glazed vegetables. The vegetables are daikon radish and sliced eggplant. Tofu, too.
It's a pretty easy recipe. Just mix the miso paste with sake, mirin, a little sweetener like agave, and egg yolk. Fry the veggies and then put on the glaze.
I'm trying this from the Japanese section of Jeremy Pang's Simple Family Feasts cookbook, which I checked out from the library.
Superberry kombucha.
Iced decaf and a Zaini chocolate for dessert.

(36,332 posts)Your typical homemade tomato-mushroom-basil-marinara sauce with meat balls. I had a bunch of those super flavorful, kinda drying out, shriveled tomatoes to use. We live in a desert so thin skinned tomatoes on the counter start to lose moisture pretty quick, but as they wrinkle they get tastier. I sliced a few marinated baby artichokes to go with, and topped the pasta with shaved pecorino-romano cheese.
