(38,961 posts)(w/ egg noodles) Believe it or not... I used canned beef. I had never seen it before, but we got it at the food bank. I was terrified to open the can. (The only beef in a can I was ever familiar with was corned beef hash.) It turned out to be okay, but I think this is true because I put it in a tasty sauce. I'll bet it would be okay in a soup, as long as it was added near the end.
steamed green beans
dessert: cantaloupe
Dad had meatballs and gravy w/ mashed potatoes and... green beans.

(22,722 posts)in fact I will use it in the stew I am making tonight. Very handy and tasty.
It's Kirkland, like the chicken breast (I use that stuff all the time)

(37,877 posts)I never go to Costco 'cuz it's not close.
I generally like their products, though. They used to make sausage that the RG regularly requested I pick up when I went to the store that carried it.

(10,648 posts)Started marinating it yesterday, it's been in the oven on low for a few hours. Roast corn and a green salad as sides.
Lunch tomorrow: pulled pork sandwiches!

(22,722 posts)I put two kinds of summer squash, red bell pepper, onion, garlic, diced pork and the okra.
Slice the okra very thinly (like discs), and stir fry it with the peppers. Set aside. Then do all the other veg with onion & garlic and cajun spice powder. Set aside. Then cook the pork, sprinkle very liberally with the spice powder and add the vegetables back in. Add Worcestershire sauce to your taste and serve over rice.
I have made this using chicken breast, beef, pork and andouille sausage. The sausage is the best.
