This is worse than that sweet potato 'casserole' with the marshmellows on top that we (in the south) had every Thanksgiving and Christmas.

OF COURSE the kids loved it.
To us/them it was DESSERT that you got to eat with the meal.
Same with 'ambrosia'.
DESSERT as a 'salad'.

It's also good that she advised us to put some ice cream 'in a bowl'.
