Related: About this forumLakeside picnic today
My retired nephew and his wife are travelling the country and are camping at a lake about an hour away. They are living the dream And worked for every bit of their current leisure.
I made some garlic/cream cheese pinwheels. Some are vegetarian, some have shrimp.
I made a sweet, low-carb cream cheese dip, to serve with lemon cookies and graham crackers.
Looking forward to having a (I hope) quiet day of sun and water

regarding thunderstorms and rain, we weren't supposed to get any until 3 p.m. but at 10:30, while working in one of my school gardens, it started pouring.

(19,013 posts)Surrounded by exceptional cooks and bakers. Thank you for the pat on the back. They treated us to dinner 2 times. I got them a bottle of 1000 Stories bourbon barrel aged wine to thank them. The local liquor store has an amazing variety of wines. I have no idea what is good, but it was fun looking.
Stay dry!

(19,013 posts)I forgot my nephew had rented a pontoon boat. We all got to go out on the water after we ate. Several people swam. We left about 7 and drove thru one of the worst thunderstorms ever. About 5 minutes from Marietta, all of our phones were alerting on a tornado warning. So I'm in the basement at my daughter's, waiting for a break to get home. What a day!
It seems we all liked the pinwheels, none left lol

(19,013 posts)She wanted me to stay for the night, but I hadn't brought my evening meds. Then she wanted to follow me home, and I said I'd be okay. But she had me call her and stay on the phone till I got to my place. So thoughtful
