I like summertime tomato-basil sandwiches on fresh torta rolls, so that sounds like a plan, maybe with a warm vinaigrette potato salad.

Your dinner sounds outstanding, NJCher!

Ms K is home convalescing, but hasn't much of an appetite yet. I think she's saving it for a slice of rhubarb pie for dinner, lol. I'll get her some ice-cream to go with it!

just put the beans for dal in the Instant Pot, will make some raita later, maybe aloo gobi if i feel ambitious. All this just to use up the tikka paneer from earlier this week. At least the dal freezes well

After ten months and nearly 4,000 miles of sailing, we are home.

It’s cool in the Catskills and the Landlady decided to stuff and roast a chicken. It’s spiced with rosemary, thyme, salt and pepper. I’m making creamed spinach and the gravy when the bird is cooked.

Butter pecan ice cream for dessert. It’s a treat we haven’t had much of living on a boat!

It’s good to be home.

Sounds good in the Catskills. 84 here, and t'storms forecast for 2 a.m. and through the day Friday.

Butter pecan was my mother's favorite, MINE = coffee.

When I visit family in Western New York, there are 3 things I insist on having: beef on weck, birch beer, and maple walnut ice cream

popular in the Buffalo area. If you're ever there, try it at Schwabl's in West Seneca, which has been serving it since at least the 1840s - or so they claim

Is a lot of sailing!

I didn't know you were coming back; for all I knew you were going to sail forever!

I am sure I speak for quite a few others when I add that we are happy you are back.

Give this some thought: when you've had time to reflect on your travels, a post of your thoughts, etc. I know I would like to read something along that line.

… there are some folks who wish I would! (wink)

Thank you for your welcoming thoughts. And thank you for bending the Group rules to let me comment about our journey in your daily (and delicious!) dinner post.

I’ve started a post for the Travel Group. It was the adventure of a lifetime! I’ll let you know, NJCher.

It’s 8:23 am and the Landlady is already discussing our dinner plans!
