(7,904 posts)I love one pot meals.
Someone once made a dish this kinda reminded me of.
They called it Funeral Potatoes and it consisted of frozen hash browns layered with cheese, onions and cream of mushroom soup. Great, filling side dish for large, buffet style meals laid out for after funeral rites or before like during Wakes which is how it got the name, I imagine.
She made fantastic yeast rolls too but we broke up before I could get the recipe, darn it.

If it's not online somewhere, it's not too hard to imagine how something very similar could be put together.
With yeast rolls however, you must be pretty exact, as with all breads.
Your Stuffed Pepper soup sounds intriguing so I'll be back for that one!

(13,731 posts)You know I was wondering if I could just do rice in crockpot instead of cooking it separate ,just dump cup in uncooked with the soup Ill have look that up.

(7,904 posts)It's getting the liquid to rice ratio that's the tricky part and while this would certainly infuse the rice with more flavor, it takes away just that same amount from the broth, no?
Kinda reminiscent of making Risotto, lol.

(25,290 posts)I didn't know you could do that in a crock pot. What temperature and time do you cook this at, I would like to try this. What heat/time do you use to brown the hamburg?
