(39,652 posts)Our blueberry bush is LOADED, though most of the blueberries are not yet ripe. I did manage to get enough of them to make us some pancakes, but I'm not going to make them until Al gets out of bed.
We are having quite a week. Al's left eye has been bothering him since before his hip surgery (which was over a month ago) and now that he's more mobile we were able to get him in to see someone about it. That was Monday. A lot of what has happened since is not completely clear to me as COVID restrictions at the doctors office meant I couldn't go in with him.
The way I understand it from Al's telling: he has glaucoma. The pressure in the eye is at "emergency level" so they scheduled him to see an eye surgeon the next day. Al was under the impression that he was going to be having emergency eye surgery to relieve the pressure. That did not happen. Instead they have referred him to a glaucoma specialist. That appointment is this afternoon. This specialist is in a different facility and I have been assured that I will be allowed to go with him.
I'm quite miffed about the run-around. We don't have a working vehicle, and we have to ask others for transportation. Also, if it's an "emergency," then what's up with the "come back tomorrow," or "go see this specialist on Thursday" crap? Thus far, what's been done is they've prescribed 4 (!!!) different eye drops (oh and that's expensive too, not to mention more driving around).
So, add all this onto the usually manageable schedule of having to cook dinner for Dad, be here for the physical therapist, and the fact that Al's in considerable pain and...
Today's the 2nd anniversary of my Mom's passing.

(22,777 posts)but just finished making husband's breakfast: left over steak, sliced and sauteed in butter with sliced baby bellas and sweet onion, 2 OE eggs, 1 slice buttered toast.
I may eat something later. Have cream cheese now, so maybe a cinnamon raisin bagel.

The fun part is that it's all with fresh items from the garden. I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!!!
