So, does anyone think we need a host?

I think it would be helpful to have someone who can pin threads, not for "crowd control". I've never seen a post deleted.

I would be willing to serve in that capacity, if there is agreement. I've been doing genealogy for about 14 years and have gotten back to the 1700's on both my mother and father's side. Working on the in-laws now. History is fascinating to me, so genealogy is more so.

Since it's in the nature of "belling the cat" - you see the need and are willing to do it.

A suggestion - if you have time, maybe find some of the threads with valuable reference information from the old DU and repost here, pinning them to the top so the information stays available.

I won't have much time tomorrow but I might be able to help with that, if need be.

There are so many links and other information on the old board that would be great to have pinned here.

I don't know you very well, but I think we do need someone, and if you are willing to do the job, go for it!
