Lost four pounds in less than a month.

I walk on the treadmill three miles a day. Nothing.
Supposedly healthy diet with portion control. Nothing.
Good sleep. Nothing.

What I changed:
1. Started a mega-probiotic for 3 months. (Guess it needed 2 months to kick in.)
and
2. More vegetables, not vegan, to maybe 65% of diet. Found out these are prebiotics which feed the probiotics.

I got these ideas for change from the book Eat Dirt by Dr. Axe, who also has a website. I'm healing my leaky gut. I'm hoping it's not too late for my thyroid. (My antithyroid levels are in the 300s.)

Increased intestinal permeability is a symptom of real diseases like Crohn's, and celiac disease.

Eta it's a great idea to increase probiotics and prebiotics.

It makes sense that toxins that should be excreted can leach into the blood stream and travel to vulnerable areas of the body, causing auto-immune disease such as Hashie's Thyroid, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's, etc.

Taking a probiotic/prebiotic protocol won't hurt or damage my body.

I'll check in later in the fall to report.

How did you increase the vegetables? I find it hard because there's so much prep work involved with a salad and so on.

increasing vegetable dishes. As to the latter, I'm using the Moosewood Cookbook and some frozen side dishes from Trader Joe's. Even if it's one serving, I eat one half. No increase in hunger.

I'm eating cheese (Cheddar, Pepper Jack) about the size of two dice and no more for snack.

I hit a road block at 205. Tried but stayed at that weight for a long time. Started eating a few bites of fresh sauerkraut and now only drink coffee, water and herbal ice tea. Skip breakfast and don't eat until 2:00 PM every day and reduced red meat, added more veggies and have lost another 15 lbs. 5 more to hit my goal of 185. I'm 6'3".

If you need to lose your weight immediately, at that point you should attempt to eat Keto diet because from the start a little while, you'll lose for the most part water weight because of a decline in calories. This will fall off rapidly, enabling you to drop 10 pounds or more, altogether, in 30 days or less.
