Forced C-Section “More Healthy” f/ Pregnant 10-Yr Old Rape Victim Than Abortion?

Forced C-Section “More Healthy” f/ Pregnant 10-Yr Old Rape Victim Than Abortion?

A 10-year-old girl in Paraguay is pregnant, allegedly after being sexually assaulted by her stepfather. That alone is horrific, but even more heartbreaking is that the young girl, still at this point in her second trimester, is being denied a pregnancy termination because anti-abortion factions in this highly conservative country claim it is “too late” to perform one safely. Instead, they say it would be healthier for the child to have major abdominal surgery and deliver via c-section.

The story of the pregnant child has a country that already bans abortions in every instance except when the pregnant person’s life is in danger further battling over the impossible stringency of its abortion law. The girl in question reportedly did not have her pregnancy diagnosed until she was already 21 weeks in, a factor that is causing anti-abortion officials to claim that maybe they would have considered an abortion, but now, since it has progressed so far it would further jeopardize her health to allow her to have the procedure.

“Health Minister Antonio Barrios, a paediatrician, said Monday it was out of the question to allow the girl to have an abortion because she was already in her 23rd week of pregnancy,” reports ABC.net. “‘If there needed to be an abortion, it had to be before the 20th week,’ he said.”

Instead, his answer is to wait and have her deliver via c-section in order “to avoid complications.”

How disingenuous to imply they are concerned for this little girl. What matter the state of gestation other than right to life BS...welcome to Amerika, they are doing the same thing in this country. Disgusting!

Well I guess I wasn't speechless after all...
