From what I know, after Roe v.Wade Medicaid covered abortions without restrictions but in 1977 the Hyde Amendment passed so that abortions were covered only in cases of rape, incest, physical health and life endangerment to the woman. Medicaid now covers only in cases of rape, incest and life endangerment and only in some states. And there has been a long fight to provide abortions to military women serving overseas. It's so important for women to know how long and hard we've worked for safe, legal abortions but, unlike the rest of the world, we've been moving back to the sad time when I was young. I knew girls who had to drop out of high school and took the terrible risks of back-alley abortions. We women have to keep Obama and progressive Democrats in office!!!
