During March 2009, the Tennessee General Assembly (TNGA) House Health and Human Resources Committee held an evening public hearing for the reintroduced Senate Joint Resolution 0127 (a.k.a. SJR127) legislation that proposes an amendment to the Tennessee State Constitution that would empower elected members of both the TNGA House and Senate to introduce and enact legislation to outlaw what are currently legal abortion procedures across the state of Tennessee.
The legislation for the SJR0127 state constitutional amendment has already been enacted twice by the Tennessee General Assembly (as I recall, both in 2009 and 2011) and will appear as a 2014 ballot question for amending the Tennessee State Constitution with regard to abortion.
This video (with some minimal editing) features the entire 24 public hearing minutes or so of the March 11, 2009 committee testimony by Paul Linton. Linton, who was introduced during the public hearing by TNGA Reps. Charles Curtiss, is the retained special council of the Thomas More Society of Chicago and former general counsel of Americans United for Life.
This video also features some brief criticism of the Thomas More Society for the TMS web page content featuring the 'About Sir Thomas More' narrative and briefly presents a small, fair use portion of a screen shot from the masthead of the above mentioned TMS web page.
