No "Seniors" Group on DU3? Checking my father into behavioral health, may never come home.

As largely looming as the senior population and their associated conditions are, I'm surprised not to find a group devoted to issues and questions and resources related to aging.

Oh well.

I sit as I type in the waiting room of the local hospital's behavioral health center where they will admit my 86 year old stepfather for at least 72 hours to determine whether or not he is safe to go home again.

It will be a relief for the neighbors, my mom's 24 hour caregivers, and many others that this bitter nasty man, lately prone to molesting and following women around, will not be there.

Still, if he doesn't come home again, he will be missed.

Funny how that is.

Sad.

As it turns out, he was returned last Friday-- he was a model patient while being observed which is kinda creepy.

But they changed his meds so hoping it's legit, and no new bad deeds during this week he's been back home.

Still, their finances will run out if they ever lose the cheap help they have and their needs are multiplying.

I had a rep from a nursing home over to meet them, went over for a look, and will have dad try it for a few days if he's willing.

Thank you for the kind thoughts!
