So, my sister told me that in light of my diagnosis, I need to start cutting back.
I will die with Sjogren's, not from Sjogren's, but I intend to live as well as I can every day. I don't see a need to start sitting around waiting to die. I am working on making my garden easier to care for - I have access to all the wood chips I want for mulch. In the mean time, if I have to make a choice, I can live with dust bunnies on the stairs!

(5,649 posts)I say do everything you can to live every day to its fullest. And when you find something that you can't do - its up to you how to handle it. Each day is a series of choices and if you can do one thing to make your life happier (ride a bike, garden, etc) then I say "DO IT!"
The first month after I found out I had Diabetes, I cried almost every day. It was overwhelming and I felt a little "poor me" for not being allowed to eat spaghetti and rice and chocolate. 10 years later, I've learned that I can eat anything I want... in moderation. And changing my diet has made things like Snickers bars just too sweet. I don't even like them anymore. I do still wish I could eat a pile of Jasmine rice sometimes but I don't. It's about choices and trade offs some days, but I'm not about to act like I'm dead 40 years before I die.
