Getting my knee scoped in May most likely. That may be just the tip of the iceberg though.
My surgeon isn't ruling out total knee. I had my left done almost ten years ago when I was 45. This will be the first sugury for my right knee.
Almost worse has been other pain in my joints. Shoulders, hips and now elbows. It started with a tweaked right hip a couple years ago. Oops, I guess the knee was already bad but I was kinda used to it. The hip didn't hurt bad, I could just always tell it was there. Now other pain is bad enough that I rarely notice the right hip. The left hip has me hurting just sitting down after awhile. I can last about an hour and need to get up and move around.
I'm constantly aggravating my shoulders. A little strain or tweak here and there has me wincing. At night it's the shoulders and elbows (mostly the right) that kill me and make it hard to sleep. I know wake up at least a couple times from pain alone every night. That right elbow can be an almost sickening ache.
I've mostly only taken naproxen (Aleve) for the pain. When the knee gets down and I'm off work, I'm going to have a complete physical and see what all the pain is about. I of course suspect arthritis, that's what it's been with the knees.
I'm 54 and have an active but not what I would call physically demanding job. I drive for a blood center. I drive the busses, load unload, set up registration and other equipment at blood drives and register donors during the drives. Then packing up and heading back to unload. Even if the scope job turns out pretty good, I'm still going to be out there hurting every day.
I've never been one to complain much. I'm throwing in the towell though. I want them to get me feeling a whole lot better or I'll at least explore my chances at disability. If it wasn't a job I enjoy doing I would have reached this point awhile back. It's really starting to wear on me now though.
