New mattress smell making me sick. All mattress covers protect from bed bugs, etc.

Rather than throw a perfectly good mattress out, I am trying to buy a cover for it, but I cannot find one that says it protects from smells. Does anybody know if there is such a thing?

If I have to buy a hypoallergenic mattress - they are Expensive!

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

or online, which might be more reliable if you don't have a twin or king. Be sure to use a mattress pad over it or you'll wake up every morning having to peel the bottom sheet off your sweaty skin.

The smell shouldn't last all that long, that's the only good thing.

Ironically, a lot of the plastic covers are made to contain (ta da) bedbugs.

days I took it back and bought a different one that didn't reek. That would be my suggestion, return it and get one that doesn't smell like poison.

If you can't return it - put it outside in the sunshine for a few day to out gas it.
