Pain moves from place to place in my leg
I really never wanted to be a medical mystery!
Pain my calf started one month ago, after an unusual amount of walking. (walking one hour a day was normal for me- on this day, various activities kept me walking for about 3 times that long.)
The pain moved to my shin, then to left part of my knee, then to the part of my sciatica behind my knee, now to my knee.
the pain is bad enough that I use a cane.
I got x-rays and blood work. The Dr says must do more tests - could be fibramialgia, or auto-immune disease.
Has anyone experienced anything like this?
thanks,
ellen

(10,189 posts)I have the same kind of problems as you, but then I have multiple sclerosis so it's expected with me.
I'm sorry you are hurting and I hope it turns out to be nothing serious and goes away soon.

(3,864 posts)At least they seem to know what is going on - partially.
Did an ultrasound, and found a LOT of fluid.
Took out 8 millimeters or something like that. Showed it to me,
yuck.
And gave me a shot of cortisone.
I feel a little better.
Hopefully I will feel a lot better in a couple of days.
I like the dr and feel confidence in him - that's important.

(3,864 posts)Doctor # 4 recommends this. he thinks I have a torn meniscus. If I do hopefully it can be corrected with physical therapy not surgery ( a friend had this.)
and I had a Lyme test. waiting for results.
I tell you, one thing you never want to be is a medical mystery!
thank you, and have a nice day.

(10,189 posts)Being a medical mystery. When I got my MS diagnosis, I had huge relief just to finally have a diagnosis after 14 years of trying to get an answer for why my body seemed to start going wonky in my 30's.
I hope the MRI will show something easily fixable, with physical therapy!

but I do want to know what is going on.
boy 14 years...good for you for perservering and finally getting a diagnosis.
I hope the MS is not impacting your life too badly.

(10,189 posts)I had a friend who had arthroscopic surgery on her knee. It wasn't bad at all and she hasn't had any problems since then, so it worked!

(3,864 posts)I found out I have a menuscus (sp?) tear, and will start physical therapy Monday.
If the p.t. doesn't work, I will need the surgery.
I hope not, but good to know your friend had it and it worked!
