Something new on autoimmune?
I find the fatigue the most debilitating problem, and have been trying to figure out a way around it. I came across this topic, and think it might be relevant:

(113,131 posts)They've always known that the fatigue and depression are cytokine associated. While they're protective in injury and infection, promoting rest during recovery, they're maddening with any chronic illness we could probably cope with quite nicely without them.
While there are drugs that promote alertness during the day, the side effects are often such that medical science tells us we'd better just lump it and try to figure out how to cope.
Someday they'll figure out how to suppress the production of those nasty little cytokines. Someday they'll figure out how to cure these damned diseases. Someday...

(36,286 posts)has been out there a while, but it's the first time I've seen this explanation for inflammation related fatigue. The nice thing about it, maybe someone will figure out a blood test so we can prove we're not being lazy and making it up!

(13,655 posts)I infuse clients with CIPD and other autoimmune diseases....they receive IV Gammagard 10%... Some can do it themselves with sub-Q Hizentra.

(39 posts)I gave in and have started taking rest periods every day, sometimes I nap sometimes just rest. Interesting article, will share with my rheumatologist.
I have recently heard about Young Living Essential Oils and they claim to help just about everything. Has anyone else looked into them?

I've used Young Living Oils for years. IMO ... They are the best on the market.
