Good morning all,
I reach out to you to share something that has happened. I am a musician and in 2015, I worked with a neighborhood club owner to start hosting an open mic in his establishment. It was very successful. Fast forward to winter of 2024 I am diagnosed with prostate cancer and subsequently canceled all gigs until further notice including as M.C.and performer at said open mic.
Today one of the bands that played their first show while I was the host started a gofundme and is hosting a benefit concert to help my wife and I absorb the financial blow. I was moved to tears as was wife my wife of 10 years. I did not know I was loved this much by the musical community I created along with other musicians who live near.
So I have a couple of questions
1. Can I share the gofundme link here?
2. If not, are there other avenues I might use to share this?
3. Has this happened to any of you?
4. How did you share it and where?
I love this place here at D.U. and don't want to break any rules. Most importantly, I need this websight to keep my sanity during a strange portion of my life and the awfulness of the GOP.
