Question about recovery from minimally invasive lung surgery to remove a tumor.

I had the surgery early Wednesday morning and got home Thursday afternoon. Basically doing well, although my chest feels like Sandy Koufax has been hurling fastballs at it.

One thing: I've got the little plastic incentive spirometer that I'm supposed to be using on a regular basis. Baseline number presurgery was about 2500+. Now it's around half that. Seems like an awful big loss given that a fairly small amount of tissue was taken. The good news is that I'm sleeping OK, bringing up mucus OK, and my SpO2 is around 94%.

Anyone have any experience with this?

and they gave me the little spirometer.

treat it like any exercise. start low snd do as many as you can a few times a day. soon you'll be doing more reps (and be back up to higher numbers.)

hope they got it all and you'll be back to normal. took 2 surgeries for mine bit ok for a while.
