Financial resources?

Does anyone know whether there's financial resources for cancer patients? My son (also a cancer patient in 2019--fingers crossed for remission) has a roommate who finished chemo in Jan this year (also surgeries) for breast cancer. She can't work any more (after 2 hours at the computer, she's exhausted and goes back to bed), so she has to buy insurance on the exchange.

She's applied for disability (just got her 2nd denial) and quit unemployment compensation because the disability office said it would improve her chances, but that reduced her income to 0.

Meanwhile her car was just repossessed (though she told the finance company she was hoping for disability), and she's months behind on her health insurance. Her 2 roommates are trying to carry her, but they're barely scraping by on their own.

I'm going to pay for her insurance today, but that's not a long-term plan, so I wondered if there's someplace she can apply to for assistance.

I'm not asking you to do my research for me, but if you know of some place off hand, that will streamline the process.

She's only 35, too young for cancer, too young for disability, but here we are.

I'm ready to cry, just typing about it.

5. Thanks, mods, for cleanup. I don't remember that comment as awful, but I'm sure there were others.
