and I'm just checking in for us.

my wife is on day 14 of her 21 day chemo cycle. she's been a bit nauseous, a bit absent minded, is losing a few hairs but she's doing pretty damn good if I can say so. Or at least she tells me.

She will not be taking any drugs this coming week, at all. Then next Monday she resumes the infusions and 6 pills a day.

I just wanted to let you guys know I'm still checking in on you all.

Peace out,

otc.

blisters on her fingers and end of her toes. sores in her mouth, her lips puffing up.

I'm glad she has a week off of this to even out. the docs said she would have some, but it's taken two weeks for them to really
exhibit.

Thanks so much for the reply.

How are you doing?

then saw that her side effects got a bit worse. I hope she was able to bounce back a bit with her week off.

You both hang in there! Keep on keeping on and take good care of your wife! (Although, it sounds like you are doing a wonderful job at that!!)

after a 18 day hospital stay for colitis brought about by her immune system crashing due to the chemo. Her weight dropped below 100 and as she says, that's the lowest it's been since 6th grade.

With the colitis her oncologist stopped the chemo. I guess that's over a month now. We see him again on Tuesday the 26th hoping to hear some good news.

I'm glad to see Tab and ruby still posting. Slipslidingaway, are you still out there?

chemo is going to be spread out over a longer period of time with a small reduction in the severity of drugs used.

Presently the treatment is Cisplatin infusion with Xolada orally on a 21 day cycle. First monday: infusion, 6 Zolada daily for 14 days, 15th day no oral meds. Then it starts over again on the 21st day.

Proposed regimin; first Monday: Cisplatin infusion at a lower dose, 4 Xolada daily for 14 days, 15th thru 20th day no oral meds.

Oncologist says we'll give it a try. I guess that's what we'll do.

As for me, I'm not sure I would do a 2nd line chemo. The first was not for the faint-hearted but manageable. Nine months after chemo ended, I still have neuropathy and sluggish legs from it.

is that there is no point in time at present that they say, "go home, you're cured".

we're living with that specter in the background everyday, sometimes it beats each of us over the head, individually and together.

thanks,
