While everyone "we" saw was proclaiming that the engine involved in the Washington state train accident was a Talgo, my son properly identified it as a Siemens Charger (SC-44). MSNBC, and any other news agencies who tried to convince him differently, were flat out wrong. According to his research, this engine didn't come into service in Washington state until December 18, 2017.
If he was incorrect, let us know.
Edited to add: If it was a Talgo, it was a Talgo Pendular.

PS I did not know that DU even had an Asp/PDD group - how wonderful you are here!

I find it really refreshing. Rather that trying to show them how to be more like me, I find myself trying to be more like them.

(91 posts)There are varying degrees of it, ranging from mild enough so that they're almost "normal", to severe enough so that they're not able to go out and lead normal, independent lives in ordinary society.
Many people on the autism spectrum also have co-morbid disorders, such as intellectual disabilities, seizure disorders, and ADD or ADHD, as well.

(694 posts)and I knew that it was a charger because I looked closely at the picture and I knew the design of the engine. And i thank you greatly.

(62,018 posts)front of the locomotive was curved and ran straight back from the window all the way to the back. I remembered seeing that on the news photos.
I've been interested in locomotives since I was young. I am old enough to have ridden the last steam locomotive passenger run from Chicago to Cleveland on the Nickle Plate Road. I got on in Toledo. I was four or so and I still remember it and that the conductor looked like George Goebel (a comedian on TV).
