Well that was a rough weekend! TGIM!

I've been sober for 3 1/2 years, but weekends can be tough. This past weekend I kept thinking how enjoyable it would be to have a few drinks all three nights. O got through it mainly by distracting my self. Went up to bed early with a bowl of ice cream and watch some tv. These days, the early part of the week is my favorite time. I really hate weekends!

Onward and upward! Thanks for listening to my griping!

That's how I got through those first years. Focus on how great it is to be sober, no worries about getting pulled over, all that money saved and all of the other personal benefits you are reaping now. No way I want to go back.

"Move a muscle, change a thought," was one of the sayings I learned that helped me the most. Even if it was just emptying the dishwasher, which took me much longer than it should have, or taking my dog out and focusing on the fresh air and nature, helped me a lot. Good job!

But weekends are still a struggle sometimes. I actually look forward to Mondays. Juas the opposite for "normal" people.
