"The Heartbreak Kid." Avoid this at all costs!

I finally broke down and watched it. Total waste of time. I don't know why I keep thinking a Ben Stiller movie is going to be funny. He's just a horrible actor, his movies are terrible, and this one was especially bad. It started out okay, but went south in a hurry. Why do they keep making movies with him in them?

1. Wow, at first I thought you were talking about the original.

But I see you are referring to the remake. If you can get a chance on the original give it a go. You might want to wait a while though to cleanse your palate, so to speak. The original has a 92 score on Rotten Tomatoes...

I thought how bad could this be? I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

I avoid him, Adam Sandler, Kirk Cameron, Nicholas Cage, and several others Netflix has the entire catalog for. I wish I knew which one of the streaming services would be best for me and still have the rest of the three seasons of El Barco in HD for me to finish watching. I had the one month free of Netflix and now they have taken money for the first month paid. I want something with less of the right wing Christian themed crap in it camouflaged as regular movies. Netflix has FAR TOO MANY of those stinkers too.

I have Amazon Prime - for shipping savings

I don't care for TV shows anymore.
I've tired of watching sports much. I'll watch the odd event.
I can't watch much cable news anymore - most of it is poor to bad.
So I canceled cable tv a few years ago. Haven't missed it.
I pick up news videos online.

I can't seem to find many good movies which used to be all I liked to watch.

6. Other than a very few TV series, I mostly look for movies.

That is what I love, finding a good movie. That seems hard nowadays. They all seem to show the same things, and most of it is stuff I have either seen before, read the book already, or they just don't keep my attention when I try to watch them.

There are a few older movies that I loved that were great. I cannot find them anywhere now, even on DVD. I always wish one of them would show up online.

7. I tried using "scores" like IMDB rating or

Rotten Tomatoes to help but, for example:

IMDB rating was about 7.4 and Rotten Tomatoes was about 86% for John Wick

John Wick III was rated higher.

The ratings do not come close to my impression of how bad those movies are.

Without looking it up, Shawshank Redemption had the same 90% Rotten Tomatoes rating that John Wick III did from the critics - something like that. To me, they're incomparable. IMDB was 9.3 for Shawshank vs 7.4 for John Wick - that's a little better but too high for John Wink in my opinion.

Almost everything I recommend is on Netflix. And I'm with you on the wholesome Christian crap, for sure. Although I did watch "Soul Surfer" and it was borderline family values, but still a decent movie--based on a true story.

I thought it was hilarious. Laughed my ass off. That being said, I'm not the most intellectual on this forum.... Dick jokes make me laugh.

And I'll agree with other posters here: Watch Adam Sandler, Will Farrell, Nicholas Cage, and Jason Segel at your own peril.
