Did anyone see "The Florida Project"? What did you think?
Just finished it last night. I'd like to know what others thought of it. I think it was rated 96% by Rotten Tomatoes.

(10,039 posts)I rarely watch movies in the first place, so wanting to re-watch something is a large indicator that I really liked it.
I honestly wasn't wild about it for one reason: the mom. She was both crazy and nasty. It kind of ruined it for me.

(20,682 posts)I found out, as an adult, that my mother was horribly abused by her mother. Any films that show children being abused or neglected are a no go for me.

(24,036 posts)The kids were a bunch of unruly, foul-mouthed brats and the mom was just plain nasty, with almost no redeeming qualities about her. The only good thing about the film, was Willem Dafoe, who's great in everything.

2 points for the actual movie
2 points because I sat through the thing.
I turned to IMDB and many reviewers complained about it.
It really didn't have a focus and considering the situation they were living in, I didn't sense suspense or danger. Instead it was boring and the kids were mostly brats.
