A thread in which I trash the movie Book Club...

I'm glad I did not see this at the box office. I think it purposely used wonderful actresses to lure us in on the premise there might be a good, funny story...but no.

I love Candace Bergen, Jane Fonda, Mary Steenburgen and Diane Keaton and would watch them in anything but come on! Even they should be embarrassed they accepted such a film. I have been in a book club for 20 years myself so I thought there might be something I'd find enjoyable. They don't even talk about books! Except for 50 Shades of Grey and I could go with that IF there had been a point to any of it.

They should have called this movie Older Women Trying to Date in 2018. Candace was the best in that role.

*sigh*

I hate to see really good, older actresses reduce themselves to working on these types of movies.
