The “Sixties Scoop”, when children were taken from indigenous families and warehoused in institutions, in foster care and adopted into white families in an effort to end the culture. This is an incredibly brilliant telling of the journey to healing of a whole people.

1. I enjoyed the series immensely.

This is a part of history that I knew nothing about. The acting in this is superb. The story is heartbreaking.

Everyone should watch it. I have a PBS Passport membership, so I'm not sure if it's available to those who don't have one. The price of a membership is as low as $5 a month and it's well worth it, but then again, I'm a huge PBS fan.

Did you happen to catch The veterans day programming last night? It was astonishingly good, a hard look at our decades-long willful systemic ignoring of mental health care needs, a great story about ptsd and service dogs and a show on integration in the military under Truman. (I think- I was tv’d out by that point as much as I care.)

But since I'm a passport member I'm sure I can catch it again and will because of your recommendation. Was it just one program or several? I would be especially interested in the service dogs portion. I raised and trained service dogs for the blind and volunteered at the school for many years.
