The Wire (HBO)

Just finished binging this over the past 10 days.....5 seasons. One of the truly great great series I have ever watched. The character development (and extreme exits) were amazing. The storyline. carried over 5 years was even better. I am sad that this crew couldn't have made a 6th season and gotten that slimeball Levy nailed.

Maybe the best L and O genre ever....

Another great one, by the same folks, is Treme. If you haven't seen it, worth the binge.

Especially the opening credits.

My maternal relatives were all from that area, but dispersed after Katrina. It is an era and culture that is probably gone for good now thanks to AirBnB taking over the remaining housing. I'm so glad that they captured it in such loving detail in this show.

I remember the first time I watched it I only lasted about 15 minutes and turned to another choice. But a while later I decided to give it another try. After giving it a chance again, I was hooked. Great story, amazing actors!! I wish I could find another series as good, any suggestions? I also loved Treme.

He regretted the murders he committed.

He had a couple of walk-ons in the series.

was not expected. I thought there would be a scene a with showdown with Stansfield. Kinda made sense, in the context......a feared dude gets taken down by a child. but Stanfield gets his $ and a vacated judgement.... Very unsettling. not fair.
