Watched the first episode of Extraordinary Attorney Woo (Netflix)
and WOW!!! What a jewel this is. It's funny, it's touching and the acting is so damn good. The main character is SUPER talented. I cannot imagine performing some of the lines that she has.
If you don't mind subs, give this one a try.

(22,769 posts)You are correct on all points. One of the things I have noticed about Korean programs: the subtitling is superb.
The lead actress is amazing! I looked up some of her other work so we can watch for them.
FYI pay attention to the whales

(22,769 posts)This is a one season story but has 24 episodes. It is beautifully filmed, costumes and set design are outstanding and the actors are superb.
The main storyline: the hotel is a waystation for the souls of the dead who are not ready to cross over. Each character has a reason to be there; some have been there for a very long time and some resolve their reason for being there in a relatively brief amount of time.
It opens with the new hire of a mortal to run the hotel. He can see and interact with the souls in the story. We find out the backstories on the various characters, particularly the owner (she is absolutely gorgeous and has a more fabulous wardrobe than Natalie Wood did in The Great Race)
I highly recommend this series

Every episode is a jewel.
BTW, The producers have announced that they want to film a Season 2. But, it make take some time since the actor who plays Lee Jun-ho is currently doing his military service in the Army in South Korea.

(680 posts)This is an absolutely terrific series, which will have a second season, with some excellent performances. Love her fascination with whales. There are some excellent additional seasons on Netflix of other shows. It's Okay to not be Okay ( also about mental health issues ) My Name ( a crime thriller with two great lead performances ) My Mister ( an at times melancholy, but joyous celebration of the human spirit starring IU, the actress, singer from Hotel de Luna that someone else mentioned). Also a really good show from Disney+ but also available on Hulu, May it Please the Court which follows a case during the years of the South Korean military dictatorship, highly recommended. And finally two seasons of Alice in Borderland with some strong female lead characters. Happy viewing!
