Violent Night is a hoot and a bit of a surprise.
Wasn't what I was expecting but it was, violent, funny, sweet, caustic, tongue-in-cheek and lots of fun.

It is really well done, and a nice addition to Santa Claus lore. The scene where Scrooge has Santa held captive is Edward Albee-level brilliant. It's extremely violent but in a comic-book/Grand Guignol way. There are also references to other Christmas films, like Home Alone, as well as Christmas Vacation due to the presence of Beverly D'Angelo.
