"Devs" on Hulu

Anyone watched this?

It's about what might happen if a tech company successfully developed a way to accurately model reality, resulting in a perfect "Simulation". Not a new concept exactly, but I thought they did well, raising lots of thought provoking questions.

Give it a try, if that sounds interesting.

I have the Devs computer set as my desktop wallpaper. After I finished the show, I went around at work insisting that all my geek friends watch it too! I hope you enjoyed it. It's a real hidden gem with a huge reveal at the end.

Although, I wasn't thrilled with the casting of the main character.

I wished they had spent more time explaining the technical issues of *how* exactly they built their device, :sigh: but if they knew how, they'd be doing more than making a TV show, I guess (I hope!)

With some liberties, that computer is probably not so completely fantastical. The incredible tech is how they trained the AI, I think. And wasn't there an episode where the main guy talked about that? Anyway, a phenomenal short series with really good actors!

Like, scanning a mouse at some fantastical resolution, such that by extrapolation, it could define every particle in the universe*, at every time.

I want one of those scanners! Or, do I?

*that particular universe anyway
