Mr. Femmedem and I loved Heartstopper on Netflix.
If you're looking for something that's sometimes funny, sometimes serious and always heartwarming without being Hallmarky and saccharine, you might love it, too. It's an eight-episode miniseries with half-hour episodes about a group of LGBTQ British high school friends who look out for each other, and the relationship that develops between one and ... well, no spoilers.
It's got a 100 on the Tomatometer, and 97% of the audience reviews are favorable, too.

It's a great antidote to any anger or despair you might be feeling over the state of our union.

(3,379 posts)I have watched the entire series multiple times. It's a great series for when the anxiety tries to take a strong hold of my brain. It's beautiful and hopeful and joyful.
I'm excited that they renewed it for seasons 2 and 3.
The actors and writer are also top notch humans and have been doing a ton for LGBTQ rights.

(12,883 posts)It's brilliantly done and wonderfully acted by the young cast, and I swear I was on the edge of my seat at times, like watching a thriller, because you want things to turn out okay for the kids. And it has Olivia Colman.

Edgy, very well written and acted sounds right up my alley. Thanks!
