ST:Strange New Worlds - Ep 5: Spock Amock

This episode is cracking me up. lol. Pretty good series.

The story line: A personal visit causes a comedy of errors during Spock & Pike's crucial negotiations with an unusual alien species.

Spock is visited by T'Pring, his fiancee. I could of course give more details but i don't want to post spoilers.

1. I've been watching because I really like Anson Mount (though much more so in western genre)

but I have to say the actor they have playing Spock is really "spot-on." Good choice. The younger Uhura is good too.

Ethan Peck is Gregory's son (Grandson?), suggesting that some families are indeed "Theatre Families"! Without imitating Leonard Nimoy, he gives us a very good interpretation of the character.
Really like Uhura. She was a bit startling after so many years of seeing a tall, willowy lady in the role. (True confession: I still have a crush on Nichols.) Seeing her as a very African person who's trying to fit into the rather military world of Starfleet makes her all the more endearing as she struggles with her insecurities. The idea of playing her as somewhat shy was brilliant. She's cute, too.

4. Yes, Ethan Peck is doing a real good

job. His Spock is derived from the original with some believable differences. I agree with everything you said.

2. My favorite episode thus far...

... I enjoy the throwback TOS music during dramatic scenes.

Great casting, too.
