A great new documentary series "Our Great National Parks", with BARAK OBAMA narrating!
A VERY enjoyable look at national parks all over the world. Really makes you appreciate how many national parks are responsible for preserving species that are on the brink of extinction.
And of course, a reminder of what is being lost through climate change.

I've been reading blogs & looking at photos of Glen Canyon (before the dam was built), since there is talk of draining Lake Powell into Lake Mead. Damn! What an incredible canyon with historic ruins. It wasn't as well known back then since it wasn't a national park. So sad we damned it. At the point we had to start damming up rivers maybe we should have thought about how many people can live sustainably on Earth.
This site, although dated, is loaded with photos of rafting trips these folks took down the Colorado. The second link is a detailed map of the river before the dam.

I hope there are more to come; there are certainly enough national parks around the world for at least 3 more seasons of this
Besides we got to listen to #44 describe everything
