Frasier???? Just started watching and it seems to not be
in High Def. and has dark borders on each side -it does not fit the screen.
I'm on Amazon Prime and looked at some other old shows to be sure that was not the problem.
Is it really supposed to be that way?

(13,896 posts)It was filmed in 4 : 3 format and not 16 : 9 format. It could potentially be upscaled or reformatted but you will likely lose some of the existing top and bottom of the picture.

(20,682 posts)While he has been an adult for a long time and has to take responsibility for his actions, he had way more tragedies in his life than anyone deserves, and I'm sure that influenced his love for guns. His father was killed in a home invasion. His sister was abducted, raped and murdered when she was 18 and at just 20, it was his responsibility to identify her body. He had 2 half brothers who died in a scuba diving accident.
I know he turned to drugs and alcohol and was still using when he was starting on Frasier. He's gone to the Betty Ford Clinic and AA, but now considers himself a "reformed drinker" who still "enjoys alcohol". As the child and grandchild of alcoholic and the sister of a "reformed" drug addict, all I can say is good luck with that.
I know my brother's brain is Swiss cheese after more than 20 years of drug abuse, even though he gave up drugs for religion about 20 years ago. He's 61 going on 16 - still incredibly self centered and thinks he knows what's best for everyone. And yes, he's a Republican gun nut. I can only imagine what Grammer's brain and liver are like, but I think he's probably like Donald Trump when it comes to women. It doesn't matter if they're a golddigger. As long as he has a young, pretty piece of ass, he imagines he's "loved".

(12,838 posts)to being a Repub. But I've been watching Hot in Cleveland and like Jane Levee (sp) so well that I thought I'd give Frasier a try.

(16,313 posts)There is a reason Frasier won so many awards: it was wicked smart and entertaining, plus it featured Eddie.
