Husband of Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleader Who Died of Sepsis After Stillbirth Speaks Out Against 'One-Size-Fits-All' Prenatal CareKrystal "Krissy" Anderson died of sepsis on March 20 following the stillbirth of her daughter
The husband of the former Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader who died in childbirth following the stillbirth of her daughter is speaking out.
Clayton told ABC News: "One of the issues that I guess I have with the system overall is Krystal is 40, and she's Black, and we'd had a loss before, but even then they say you know, you can't start a plan with maternal-fetal medicine or the high-risk maternity doctors until you get to week 14."
"All pregnancy is high risk, especially, more so, when you're a woman of color, or you're older, and they should be treated that way from the start," Clayton told ABC News.

(11,454 posts)I think her partner should file a lawsuit.
She was high risk and they made her wait 4 weeks before even looking at her again.
"Maternal sepsis is the second leading cause of pregnancy-related death in the U.S." They waited until she got sepsis to do anything.
These forced birth enthusiaists are really messing with women's healthcare.
The medical community is much more hesitant to see pregnant patients as much anymore. It may mean they have to decide to save the woman's life and go against their Christian religion, or force birth on her and watch her die.

One person in an inter-racial marriage
A mixed-race child
Why would anyone expect right wingers to care about this couple?

(18,056 posts). . . .I say with a clear conscience that I HATE the current Republican party and anyone who supports it.
And I don't want to hear any "Hate is such a strong word." Or "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all."
I hate them. They are killing women in the name of their "god," who apparently doesn't give a shit about women, women of color, mixed-race children, people who love people of color, people of color, people . . . . well, anyone who isn't a straight white christian (?) male. I hate them, and I'm not going to apologize for it.

Of course she is white and we live in a blue state, but that didn't have anything to do with this, right?

What's up with that?

(7,919 posts)did the medical and med support people treat her with more concern than they would treeat a mother to be who was not "geriatric"?
Because if they did, I'm all for it. I'm for things whi encourage all of society to treat pregnant persons as the fragile perons they are..

(4,462 posts)Kansas is in most ways a red state, but does not have an abortion ban until 21 weeks, 6 days, unless the mother's health is in danger.
It is affiliated with the Seventh Day Adventist church, which is (from what I can put together) opposed to abortion unless the mother's health is in danger. I am very curious about how they draw that line.
There are other hospitals in that county that are not affiliated with any anti-choice religions.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out legally.
