I’ve been having TMJ problems for months. My dentist said it should go away on its own and it has improved, but it’s still there. My family dr told me to rub Voltaren gel on it and that has helped.

Good luck with your visit.

Months ago, i was chewing and my left jaw cracked. I'm wearing splints now to re align jaws. I'm not in pain. I'm worried about the cost. Good luck

I got an appliance from my orthodontist and the price was high, sorry to say. It did the trick, though, in resolving the horrible pain from those attacks. I think it might have been the result of a rear end collision accident which threw my jaw out of alignment.
You know they can make these for you from a mold that they send you through the mail, right? Costs a lot less. Just do an ai search using "tmj mouth appliance."
These evolved right after I had mine made. I always wished my timing would have been a little better. Good luck with this, xanaduer2.

You drop it into boiling water and put it in your mouth to mold it to fit. Cut the back teeth part off. Did this per my hygienist years back. Was grinding my teeth at night. Then I had to get a bridge for lower front teeth so stopped wearing it. All fine now. I was getting jaw pain before I got the mouth guard. Jaw has been fine.

Interesting that you could get it at Wal-mart! How technology has evolved!
