I started watching this when it only had a few episodes, if I remember correctly. Maybe 4? Can't recall because after I watched a few episodes I dropped it because I thought it was disgusting. Here's what I wrote and left in my "posts" file. I meant to post it but forgot:
If you watch "Botched," Netflix's series on two plastic surgeons who solve problems caused by incompetent plastic surgeons, you may develop a strong contempt for your fellow human being.
The subjects are largely unsympathetic because they got themselves into these horrible situations. Imagine going around with two boobs that are outrageously large, or a squished nose--all because you were unhappy with what Mother Nature dished out to you.
There's this guy who is addicted to procedures. He doesn't even look human. He looks like a cartoon. The episode on him opens with him discussing his next procedure with his companion. The companion seems dubious all the way.
This guy thinks the human body and appearance are meant to be reconstructed. He designs his own plastic surgery projects and then shops out doctors to enact his vision.
In this episode, the two plastic surgeons visit with him at his house. The door is answered by his lover who is wearing bikini shorts. The two doctors think this is a little weird but then the subject of the episode floats down the staircase in tight little speedos himself. Freaking hilarious. I think of all the episodes I watched, which was only about 3 or 4, this was my favorite.
Most of these situations were caused by the subjects being cheapskates who went to Mexico for a procedure, however, I did feel sympathy for the woman who had a car accident.

I'd like people to know why I'm unsympathetic. It's because I've seen two close friends go through harrowing situations with cosmetic surgery.
She was originally told it was going to cost something like $12-13,000 and it ended up $10,000 more than that--so around $23,000. She was 65 when she decided to do this. I will grant that she did not age well. She said she did it for herself because she didn't like what she saw in the mirror.
It was a horrible ordeal, at least from my POV. It took a good five months before she was free of symptoms like itching ears, itching face, swollen cheeks, and others I can't remember because it's been a few years since I saw this.
I would say her face looks good but when you see close-up what the recovery process is like (and see the expense), you do think twice about ever having this work done.
A big problem is always the neck. The face looks smooth but the key tip off is the neck. It always shows signs of age. The only way around this is a turtleneck collar.
Another friend of mine had a procedure on her neck. She had "turkey gobbler" neck, as she described it. Well, she nearly died on the operating table. I can't recall exactly what happened, but they almost lost her. Her reason for doing the surgery is that her husband is 13 years younger than she and on top of that, is quite a handsome man. I understand why she did this. The two looked like mother/son, not like a married couple.
Up close, though, this is something that has a lot of problems that go with it.
