(15,365 posts)I'm 73 have two arthritic knees and one arthritic hip. The thought of just sitting like that makes me cringe!

(106,360 posts)a replacement, ultimately, so not easy for me, but I can do it. Remember the same may well be true if you have a bad joint and are 20 years old, so, while useful, it isn't necessarily measuring the same thing for everyone.

(1,214 posts)When I was in my early 20s, I once saw someone get up from the floor without putting their hands on the ground, and I thought, What the hell! How does he do that?!
I've never been able to get up off the floor (and I meditate on the floor every night, so it's not for lack of practice) without using at least one knee and one hand.
If this test were accurate, I probably wouldn't have lived to 30.
