It will be interesting to see if the company applies for a USDA patent.

(116,878 posts)I thought that the story would be of interest to DU demographics. Seeing that Roche is involved with the development of this drug gives me some optimism that it will become available in this country.

About 20 years ago, they did actual injections with a needle to stop some bleeding due Actos. It was not fun

(116,878 posts)Obviously the fear of having something injected into your eyes would likely scare most people away from the procedure.

(18,704 posts)It is scary, but not as bad as it sounds. I find the idea of losing my vision scarier, so I put up with it!

(19,614 posts)I've not been able to see beyond my nose since I was little. I'd let them poke the heck out of my eyes if I could see better! Poke away and let me see, please!
But, this would only help my near issues, which don't bother me too much. That's a small thing easily mitigated to my reality. Dual vision issues are a real PITA. You adapt to not seeing at a distance then your up close is taken away. Right now I use one eye for each. It works out fine. Our brains are much more adaptable than we realize.
