Related: About this forumAfter taking pfizer vax, a family member has had stomach problems.
Constipation, bloating, some weird reactions to normal foods. He's 38 and has always been healthy. Doctors ran the blood tests, MRI and ultrasound and nothing out of the ordinary. Has anyone heard of this?

(5,755 posts)Not sure what is going on, but it lasted a couple days and now she says she feels ok.

(12,600 posts)Similar to a 24-hour tummy bug. That was her only reaction.
I had a blinding headache and general malaise following mine. Also Pfizer.

(14,705 posts)that before I ever got first Pfizer shot, so cant blame it on that I guess. I had no problems with either shot afterwards except sore arm.

(2,234 posts)and every couple days for about a week after.
My weirdest possible shot reaction is that for the first time in my adult life, I did not have the spring tree pollen allergies that usually drive me nuts every April. Not a sniffle this year. Crazy!

(52,259 posts)After my 1st shot a month ago I got a migraine (even my Botox for migraines couldn't beat it) and sore arm. I got the 2nd one on Fri and this time I have both the sore arm and migraine AND now constipation/bloating.

(21 posts)Exactly 1 week after my first shot I started having constipation and bloating and a weird pain in the lower left quadrant of my stomach area. I paid the doc a visit and he ordered an MRI which showed nothing. So this ruled out diverticulitis and pretty much anything he'd been thinking it might be.
I went down the path of thinking I'd developed a gluten intolerance, and while dropping gluten seems to have helped, the issue isn't entirely gone. I still have the same pain on occasion. I honestly never thought it could be tied to the vaccine until I read this post. Stomach issue seems odd for a vaccine reaction. Especially now that I'm a few weeks past my 2nd shot.

(34,600 posts)He thinks they're recommend not taking the second shot (no shit). Relative still in constant stomach problems. Pain, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, gas. He's now lost 15 pounds in the last month.

I've read a couple posts about 'mixing' vaccines if needed, the medical people will know best.
The RX tech told me to drink plenty of water before the 1st Moderna shot. I did ok with only mild arm swelling and inflamm. around the injection site.
Dunno if the water helped but maybe.

(34,600 posts)But every test came back negative. It hit him 4 days after the vax. Endoscopy, colostomy, celiac test, xrays of internal organs, blood tests, and I don't know what else. All negative. We're in Canada so zero cost, but I shudder what all this would have cost him in the USA.

(42,908 posts)an ordeal and stress to go through. Yep, the cost here would have been a king's ransom. I wish a couple young ones in the family would try to move to Canada or Australia the way this country is going and more. But they're committed, working hard at their first real jobs, doing well and just bought a house. Great kids, both have pre exisiting conditions as well, an issue.

(34,600 posts)They have the same situation as covid long haulers, and are exchanging their experiences with them. He's not an anti vaxxer, he realizes it was long odds to get this from the vaccine.
